Tulane Integration 2024
New Orleans, Louisiana
As Chief Integration Officer, Terrie Sterling led the operational and transitional planning for the integration of Tulane University Medical Center (TUMC) and East Jefferson General Hospital (EJGH). Successfully separated TUMC from HCA in less than six months and completed the full integration by January 2024.
As part of the expansion, EJGH added 200,000 square feet of new imaging and surgical suites, a Neuroscience ICU, BMT and Transplant units, and relocated 10 ambulatory clinics. Key services, including an emergency department, were retained on the Tulane Hospital campus in downtown New Orleans.
Children’s Hospital 2019
Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Lead development of a $230 million freestanding Children’s Hospital and $25 million medical office building. Responsible for governance, leadership, and transition planning.
The Children's Hospital was designed from the ground up with patients and their families in mind. The hospital is six floors, more than 360,000 square feet and has 93 patient beds with capability to expand to 180 beds. The Emergency room consist of four triage rooms and 30 private rooms with family spaces in each. There are also four large operating rooms (two shelled for growth), two procedure rooms and 10 PACU "bays".
There are 18 pre/post-op rooms and a space where kids can play while they prepare for surgery. Each area of the hospital was designed to echo a different part of Louisiana's diverse culture, landscape and natural resources.
Heart and Vascular Institute, 2013
Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Executive sponsor for programming, design, construction and occupancy of $181M Heart and Vascular Institute and $19M Medical Education Building. The Heart and Vascular Institute includes 48 critical care beds, 4 cath labs, two EP suites, 6 operating rooms including a hybrid OR, 48 telemetry beds, and dedicated pre and post procedures areas.
The ICU units were recognized by Society for Critical Care Medicine for outstanding design. A 20-bed Pediatric Emergency and Department and Level 2 Trauma Center were also renovated as a part of the initiative.
